Lahore: Cattle Management Company introduces a new business model for cattle markets, decides to remove illegal fodder points from markets and apply through bidding, approves Rs 29 million in terms of operational expenses.

Cattle Market Management Company has sought two months from the local government to outsource the collection of animal entry fee under the new business model. Important decisions were also taken in the board meeting of Lahore Division Kettle Market Management Company for the implementation of the new business model. Under the new model, the fee for large animals in the markets has been fixed at Rs.500 while the entry fee for small animals has been fixed at Rs.100.
There will be no increase in parking fees in the markets. Motorcycles 20, cars 50, motorbike rickshaws 50, pick-ups 150, Shahzor 300, and ten-wheeler trucks 1200, while 22 wheeler trucks 2500 will pay a parking fee. Illegal points will be vacated and cell points will be installed through bidding. A meeting of the board also approved a budget of Rs 29 million in terms of operational expenditure in cattle markets.

On the other hand, Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Care Captain (Retd) Muhammad Usman has issued SOPs for setting up cattle markets in Punjab. According to the SOPs, cattle markets will be set up in an open space where social distance is possible. Administrative offices and medical camps will be open and airy, entrances and exits will be separate and limited entry will be allowed.
According to sources, preparations are underway to set up 10 cattle markets in the provincial capital, Lahore. Will be able to buy and sell.

Is there a ban on cattle markets?

A cattle market will be set up on 20 acres in Saginaw in the Ravi zone. The Suggin Market will house 14,400 small and 3,600 large animals.
